For the past 35 years, Anna has had a varied NHS career working in capital development, regeneration, commissioning, financial turnaround, service redesign and evaluation.

Anna started her career in the voluntary sector, creating services for people who had been resettled from the psychiatric long-stay institutions.

She has since worked in primary care, acute care and as a commissioner for both health and social services.

She also worked for what is now called the Centre for Mental Health, managing research projects and carrying out consultancy work around introducing the National Service Framework for Mental Health for several trusts.

Anna is an accredited high-risk reviewer for the Infrastructure Projects Authority and has undertaken gateway reviews for 20 major programmes ranging from the Palace of Westminster to the Prison Service.

Her qualifications include a PhD in mental health from the University of Kent and a master’s in social policy from the University of Brighton.

Anna has a passion for using arts/heritage to design healthcare environments that contribute to the patient experience by conveying a message of caring and compassion as well as clinical excellence.
