Daniel joined GGI in January 2021 as communications and relationships manager and has worked his way up to a senior consultant role. He specialises in governance reviews, board development, and stakeholder engagement and voice in governance.

Before GGI, Daniel was strategic communications lead and manager at Hastings Borough Council. In that role Daniel led and oversaw a number of key functions including corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, public relations and brand management.

Daniel has a proven track record of working with boards to review and develop their effectiveness. He has conducted governance reviews of numerous public service and not-for-profit organisations. He has led more than 35 GGI client assignments, including stakeholder reviews, board development, governance reviews, strategy development, and governance support and development programmes. Daniel also contributes richly to GGI’s knowledge exchange work, including research papers, governance tools, insightful articles, and impact case studies. His external contributions include a chapter on sustainability governance and monitoring for the 2021 Palgrave Encyclopedia of Interest Groups, Lobbying and Public Affairs.

Daniel holds a BA (hons) in History from the University of Southampton and an MA in Literature from Birkbeck University. He is qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner, a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and has served as a school governor and supported arts charities.

He has a passion for literature, sport and history. He runs a book club and enjoys contributing to arts and educational initiatives.
