Must we really be cynical about the new NHS? | 18 October
11 October 2024
As another new government attempts to tackle the familiar challenges facing the health service, it’s easy to feel sceptical about the evolving concept of the ‘New NHS’. But could we be at a tipping point where the meaningful change we know is necessary might finally be within reach?
This webinar features the UK’s longest-serving NHS non-executive director, Professor Eileen Fairhurst, chair of the Northern Care Alliance. Drawing on her remarkable 42 years of experience as an NHS NED, Professor Fairhurst will lead a discussion on how, even in the darkest of times, we can build the narrative necessary to drive positive change.
As she prepares to step down from her role at the end of the month, Professor Fairhurst will offer her insights into the critical role NEDs play in turning policy into practice. She will talk about how each of us brings our own experiences and personal biography to the boardroom, and how this diversity can help us shape the future of the NHS in the most challenging of times.
This is an opportunity for NEDs to reflect on their leadership role and share ideas on how they can influence real, lasting change.
