The NED's role in strategy development | 21 June

21 May 2024

Boards agree strategy, but what makes a good strategy and how should a board be involved in its development? In such a tightly regulated and controlled context as the NHS, how authentic can an NHS trust’s strategy actually be?

Michael Bernard, author of Creating Strategy: A Practical Guide and a non-executive director at Southern Health NHS FT, will talk through how, in his view, good NHS boards can be attentive to their strategic duties and how non-executives can make a difference to the strategies they are accountable for.
