ICBs and MH Provider Collaboratives: VCSE sector engagement webinar

This session has been designed as a learning and development opportunity for leaders (including NEDs and trustees) in ICBs and the VCSE mental health sector. We will consider the expectations of local systems in the delivery of Community Mental Health Transformation in England, the role(s) this envisages for VCSE organisations and their experiences of mental health provider collaboratives.

The session therefore provides an important opportunity to consider how we can strengthen and sustain the unique role of VCSE mental health sector organisations in the delivery of essential services and support people living with mental illness, experiencing mental distress and their unpaid carers.

The panel will include:

• Kathy Roberts, AMHP CEO (panel chair)
• Mike Thomas, Chair – University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust and Making Space
• Andrew Corbett-Nolan, CEO, GGI
• Anna Barnes, Associate Director at South-West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust chair of Seaview, the St Leonards on Sea based mental health and homelessness charity.

At the event we plan to:

• Hear from our expert panel of speakers, and provide an opportunity for Q&A
• Share with participants the new mental health mapping tool[i] produced by the Association, which identifies mental health services within Integrated Care System/Board regions and local authority footprints;
• Provide an opportunity for attendees to share experience and learning through breakout sessions;
• Identify future opportunities for collaboration in this area and support that Association and the Institute should consider in support of the VCSE mental health sector and the improvement of the commissioning, accessibility and delivery of mental health services.
