Thrifty governance | 15 November 2023
06 November 2023
GGI's November webinar will focus on a discussion on the theme: Thrifty governance.
The event will take place on Wednesday 15 November, from 08.30 to 09.30 and will be run virtually on Zoom.
The concept of value within organisations tends to be most frequently seen through the lens of cost. However, when it comes to governance, value has a much more nuanced role to play, especially with the context of public services where value and values conflate to shape the very lives of those involved. Despite this, the cost of governance remains a factor for those who lead public services. Have you factored the cost of governance in your organisation and how can the public and voluntary sectors ensure that governance doesn’t become a casualty of the need for efficiency?
More governance isn’t better governance either. GGI has been pioneering ways of improving control whilst at the same time taking costs out of governance. But this isn’t about rearranging the governance ‘plumbing’ - it’s about changing how people think and then behave about governance, meetings and systems.
