GGI review of Greater Manchester Mental Health published

GGI was commissioned to carry out a review at Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) NHS Foundation Trust following a BBC Panorama programme that revealed a ‘toxic culture of humiliation, verbal abuse and bullying’ at the Edenfield Centre in Prestwich in 2022.

GGI’s governance and assurance review was published by GMMH on 28 March.

In a statement released on the same day, a GMMH spokesman said: “We fully accept the findings of the report and apologise unreservedly for the failings that have been identified. We owe it to all our service users, their families, carers, and our hard-working staff to put things right. We are now examining the report in detail and will act on it quickly and appropriately.”
